Purchase Orders

Are you looking to use a Purchase Order (PO)? Our PO policies help use meet schools' robotics needs.

Requirements

  • Only POs from schools will be accepted.

  • POs must be placed according to the instructions below.  POs submitted through a different process may be declined.

  • Per Net 30, payments for POs are due within 30 days of invoice.

  • Platypus Robotics quote numbers must be legible in mailed POs.  POs via email are preferred.

Instructions

The following process must be carried out for every PO, including open and blanket POs:

  1. If you're purchasing products for your school's FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team, please create an account for the school using the school name and address.  The account will be added to the FTC Automatic Discounts group.  Discounts will be reflected in the cart.

  2. Proceed to checkout with a cart containing the items you wish to purchase for the team.

  3. Please add the specific FTC Team Number to the order using "Add a note."  For example, "For FTC Team 12345"

  4. Click on the orange "Checkout" button.  Use "Manual Payment" as the payment method.

  5. Submit your order.  A quote will be created and emailed to you.
    NOTE: Because of the limitations of the website software all orders in Michigan will show a 6% Sales Tax.  Sales tax will be removed from the quote for qualifying organizations.

  6. Email a completed PO form, exactly matching your quote, to eric@platypus-robotics.org

    • Include your PO number in your email's subject line

    • Make sure that your online order number appears within your email or PO form.

  7. Your order will be delivered within 1-2 business days after we receive and approve your PO

  8. We will then send you a Net 30 invoice for payment.

Pricing and Shipping

  • Platypus Robotics does not charge State of Michigan Sales tax for sales to Schools, Churches, Hospitals, or Governments per Michigan Department of Treasury Guidance (link).  501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizations must provide proof that they are exempt per Internal Revenue Service code.

  • Quotes reflecting sales and special offers remain valid, and will be honored, after sales and/or special offers have ended up through the "valid through " date on the Quote.

  • We will keep products allocated to a quote for 5 days after order submission.
